Aberdeen Football Club is one of the most successful football teams in Scotland. There are the only club apart from Rangers to win three Scottish league titles in a row during the 1980’s. Over the years they have won a very impressive seven Scottish Cups and they trips into Europe have also been a successful time with two European trophies brought back to Pittodrie. Over the last 15 years there has been a drought in the trophy front with none to their name.
Like all teams in the SPL they are at present fighting for third spot, but the Aberdeen team has been so inconsistent over the years they have struggled to become a again a force in Scottish football that the city of Aberdeen deserve. They have extremely loyal fans base, but like most teams that should be winning trophies on a regular basis they have showed their disapproval over the years with results on the park on going their way.
One of their most famous managers will need to introduction to anyone within the British football sense. Of course I am talking about Sir Alex Ferguson. The now Manchester Untied manager had a very success time up in Aberdeen. Under his management Aberdeen Football Club won three league titles, four Scottish Cups and a Scottish League Cup. They also gain a European Cup Winners' Cup and the European Super Cup in 1983 under his management. In a way this is what made Sir Alex Ferguson the manager he is today. There was so much interest in his ability to bring the best out of a team and after all his success it was only a matter of time before one of the big boys of English football would snap him up. It took a good few years for him to put his stamp on Manchester United, but when he did there was no turning back and now he is one of the all time greats of British football and all this was done to his success at Aberdeen FC.
