Welcome to the page on this site for Clyde Football Club. Clyde Football club are presently in the Scottish Football Second Division and over the last few years have had their financial troubles and owning money to the local council which is never a good idea. They have played their football in the Cumbernauld area for the last 15 years in a stadium called Broadwood. This is owned by North Lanarkshire council and it was rent that was owned during the summer of 2009. The playing squd is now made up of free transfers after nearly all the players were release during the summer of 2009 and they actually took CV for players to join them so they could have a team this year and they have now a young team without much experience.

Before then they had to play their football at Partick Thistle Football Club for a few season after they lost their ground at Shawfield in Rutherglen. During this time and still are the Partick Thistle fans call then the Gypsies because they were homeless. Shawfield in now owned by The Shawfield Greyhound Racing Company Limited after they bought the ground in the 1980’s. It was only a matter of time before Clyde FC did lose their home because they had sold it years before and were always at the merci of the owners of the ground. Not an ideal situation to be in for any football team as they had no property to fall back on if they did get in the money troubles.
Over the years they had had some success on the park. They have held the Scottish Cup three times which is a good record. The last time they won this event was in 1958.

Clyde FC won this cup in 1939, 1955, 1958
and have been runners up on there occasions in 1910, 1912, 1949

Clyde Football club have won other cups over the years including the Glasgow Cup on five occasions and runners up on another 14 times. The list goes on with other cups including Scottish League Supplementary Cup, Glasgow North Eastern Cup, Paisley Charity Cup and the list goes on.
