The club local rivals are Arbroath Football Club and Montrose Football Club. Brechin City might have been found in 1906, but were only accepted into the Scottish Football League in 1923

Brechin City manager is the highly rate Jim Duffy in 2008. He spent alot of his time at Partick Thistle Football Club and as he was born and bread in the Maryhill region of Glasgow he became a legend at the club. Before doing that he developed his playing career at Celtic, Morton and Dundee and later became manager of both Partick Thistle and Dundee before moving to Brechin City.
